Tovy Haber Kamine, MD, MBA, is a trauma, acute care, and critical care surgeon at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. There he is the Director of Emergency Surgery Services and the Informatics Director of Surgical Clinical Documentation Integrity. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Healthcare Delivery, and Population Science at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School—Baystate. He was the founding president of the Space Surgery Association and has published and presented widely on topics on surgery and procedural medicine in space. He is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Aerospace Medical Association and is currently Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Committee on Trauma. He completed his medical education at University of Pennsylvania and his general surgery residency at BIDMC and surgical critical care fellowship at BWH. He is a civilian private pilot and ground instructor and volunteers in the Civil Air Patrol where he is a Major and squadron medical officer.
