Michael Boyle, MD

Michael Boyle is a board-certified emergency physician with a passion for advancing space medicine with technology. Michael completed his emergency medicine residency at UCSF, where he completed a clinical informatics specialization and developed a tool for modeling cerebral perfusion in hypotensive patients during reentry from space. With a strong background in computational modeling, clinical informatics, and emergency medicine, Michael has contributed to NASA’s Exploration Medical Capability, including evaluating imaging modalities for spaceflight, as well as developing a tool for monitoring astronaut health at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab. He has presented his research at the Aerospace Medical Association Annual Scientific Meeting and has published in leading journals.
Before pursuing a career in medicine, Michael worked in a tissue engineering lab developing artificial blood vessels and then at Google, where he developed software solutions that streamlined global operations for over 50,000 employees. Outside his career, he is a licensed pilot, an outdoor enthusiast, and a full-stack software developer who enjoys applying his technical skills to creative problem-solving.
