Nicolas Heft

Dr. Nicolas Heft is an Emergency Medicine physician and co-founder/Director of the UT Houston Space Medicine Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. Dr Heft graduated from FAU CESCOM in 2019 and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Texas in 2022 before cofounding a novel Space Medicine Fellowship which produces Physician-Engineers. This program focuses on the changing needs of the commercial spaceflight industry. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Special Warfare Medical Officer course, leads the space medicine research program at UT Houston, has contributed to the development of the medical framework for portions of the Artemis program, and has worked in Mission Control as Flight Surgeon for crews bound for the International Space Station.
