Dr. Jon G. Steller is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. After completing his medical degree and residency at the UCI School of Medicine, he completed his fellowship training at the University of Colorado, where his graduating thesis was the first ever study investigating the effects of a space radiation analog on pregnancy outcomes in mice. Presently, he is consults for government and commercial spaceflight entities and continues to perform research pushing the boundaries of space gynecology and space reproductive science. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, systematic reviews, textbook chapters, and is an international authority in this space. Beyond the basic and clinical sciences, Dr. Steller is also a physician scientist in the NASA Exploration Medical Capabilities Element, where he has developed significant expertise in systems engineering, medical modeling, probabilistic risk assessment, and tradespace analysis and has published numerous articles, white papers, and a book chapter teaching systems engineering for medical professionals. He joined our OSMED team as the Deputy Chair of Programming and will be helping to facilitate the Blue Track at the inaugural OSMED Conference.
