Mohammad Hirzallah, MD

Mohammad Hirzallah is a Neurologist and Neurocritical care physician with master's degrees in Neuroscience and clinical research in addition to training in wilderness and dive medicine. His research interest includes the evaluation of novel and non-invasive technologies for use in the critical unit and austere environments. Dr Hirzallah is an investigator on multiple NASA grants evaluating astronaut health and neurological changes in astronauts and the feasibility of invasive intracranial pressure monitoring during space flight. He participated in the evaluation of non-invasive intracranial pressure technologies, use of eye tracking in the ICU, advanced applications of pupillometry, novel health care application of telemedicine, and optic nerve sheath diameter. His research experience also includes efforts to standardize ultrasound optic nerve sheath diameter measurement and use machine learning to automate the measurement.
