Biomedical Engineer at Aukland Bioengineering Institute and Ambient Cognition
Dr. Brian Russell, PhD, is a Biomedical Engineer, technology strategist and researcher, specialising in computational modeling of human performance and decision support systems. His research is focused on human performance in extreme environments, including professional sports, military, and aerospace. He has designed product and silicon chips for Nokia and Analog Devices. As the founder/CEO of Zephyr Technology Corp (acquired Medtronic 2014), Dr. Russell developed remote physiological status monitoring systems for military, aerospace, healthcare, and professional sports. During this time, he partnered with Under Armour, 3M, Medtronic, and NASA. He has led the CDS at NASA Ames, developing clinical decision support systems as PI and AI developer working with a multidisciplinary teams, including astronauts, doctors, psychologists, and human factors experts.
Currently Dr Russell researches AI decision support systems at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute and develops Clinical Decision Support systems at Ambient Cognition.
